1. Explain it simply
敢 (gǎn) is a modal verb meaning 'dare to' - it shows the willingness or courage to do something.
Word order: Subject + 敢 + main verb, as in 他敢做这个决定 (he dares to make this decision).
To say someone does NOT dare, put 不 before it: 不敢, as in 她不敢一个人游泳 (she doesn't dare swim alone).
敢 sits right before the main verb; it cannot go to the end, move in front of the subject, or split the verb.

Tā gǎn zài dàjiā miànqián chànggē.

Keep 敢 right before the main verb - say 不敢游泳, not 游泳不敢, and negate it with 不 in front: 不敢.
