Lesson

稍微 (slightly / a little)

1. Explain it simply

稍微 means 'slightly, a little'. It says an action or change happens only to a small degree.

Word order: Subject + 稍微 + verb / adjective + 一点儿 / 一下.

稍微 almost always needs a small-amount word after the verb, such as 一点儿, 一些, or 一下.

Without that closing 一点儿 or 一下, a 稍微 sentence sounds unfinished.

2. Show examples

3. Share a tip

稍微 needs a partner - always add 一点儿 or 一下 after the verb, as in 稍微等一下。
