Lesson

无论…都 (regardless of…, still…)

1. Explain it simply

无论 (wúlùn) means 'regardless' or 'no matter'; it is the more formal partner of 不管.

The first clause needs a question word (谁, 什么, 哪里, 多 + adjective) or a choice with 还是.

都 (or 也) sits before the verb of the second clause: 无论…,(subject) 都….

无论 heads the first clause and 都 stays before the verb - never stack the two together.

2. Show examples

无论工作多忙,他都会锻炼身体。

Wúlùn gōngzuò duō máng, tā dōu huì duànliàn shēntǐ.

No matter how busy work is, he always exercises.

都 marks the steady result

无论你说什么,我都相信你。

Wúlùn nǐ shuō shénme, wǒ dōu xiāngxìn nǐ.

No matter what you say, I believe you.

什么 covers everything

无论去哪里,他都带着相机。

Wúlùn qù nǎlǐ, tā dōu dàizhe xiàngjī.

No matter where he goes, he takes his camera.

哪里 covers every place

3. Share a tip

无论 is more formal than 不管; both keep 都 in the second clause, so 无论…都 and 不管…都 work the same way.
